Teaching Experience and Invited Talks at Universities:

Professor Hong has taught extensively at various levels at HKUST including Executive Education, MBA, CEMS Master’s International Management and MSc Program in Engineering Enterprise Management. She has also been given research talks at the University of Chicago, University of Washington, University of Miami, National University of Singapore, the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University and Fudan University.

  • Finalist, Franklin Prize for Teaching Excellence (2018, 2019)
  • Finalist for the Michael G. Gale Medal for Teaching (2017)

Research and Publications:

Professor Hong has published extensively in the top academic journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Marketing Research. She has also published several book chapters on consumer behavior. She has been serving on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Consumer Research since 2016 and has been reviewing for many leading journals in the field, including the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Association of Consumer Research, and Marketing Letters. Her research has been covered by various media both internationally and locally, such as CBC News, Time, Wall Street Journal, South China Morning Post, and Wen Wei Po.

 

Industry Experience:

Prior to starting her academia career, Professor Hong was a marketing specialist at McFadyen Consulting, a global digital commerce agency based in the U.S.
